Vacancy :
System Engineer (Database and System Management)
- Install, maintain and support all server and database systems to ensure IT infrastructure systems are available to support business requirement for all CPOC offices.
Responsibilities:
· Perform system installation, configuration and testing for Microsoft Windows Server and SQL database system to meet business requirement
· Administer Windows domain, servers and database systems (e.g. corporate email, file/print servers, antivirus server, backup & restore, databases, storage system, etc.) to support business operation needs.
· Evaluate and propose for server and database systems upgrading to ensure maintain service availability based on products recommendation.
· Execute health check and performance tuning regularly to improve servers and database application systems performance.
· Planning for systems hardening and patching to enhance security protection level for all server and database systems.
· Investigate and handle servers & database issues escalation to second level service desk and vendor for support and resolution.
· Monitor and manage the scheduled data backup and restore operation to comply with backup and restore procedure.
· Identify, propose and execute improvement initiatives and provide technical inputs for server and database systems improvement.
· Troubleshoot server & database systems related problem and coordinate with vendor for service restoration to meet agreed SLA.
· Monitor and modify capacity and resource (include memory, storage, I/O utilization, systems load, etc) requirement of server and database system to serve current computing load requirements.
· Develop and maintain technical documentation for server software and database system
· Provide 24 x 7 support service for critical servers and database application systems at onshore and offshore to ensure service continuity.
Requirements:
· Possess at least Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology equivalent discipline. Master degree in these disciplines would be an advantage.
· At least 3 years relevant experiences in a line function role and at least 1 - 2 years relevant in E&P of Oil & Gas business operation.
· At least 2 years of proven track records and working experience in supporting and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Database and familiar with VMware virtualization environment.
· Experienced in backup system and antivirus software administration would be added advantage.
